The Fish Clap Song

We did a fun thing for XLR8R TV.

They gave us $40 and we made a track that sampled a lot of food and a fish that we bought with said $40. It was a fun day and the whole thing turned out pretty great.

Watch the episode and download our song "Fish Clap" HERE!

Well, we're home from tour again...
We had a great time playing shows through the southeast with Telepathe, and were very happy to play in some towns we've never played before.

In Denton, TX, this band called Fight Bite opened the show. We really liked their set. At times it recalled Sally Shapiro, Nite Jewel, Annie Lennnox, and that one good song on the first Azure Ray record. We jammed their CD in the van, although we were especially feeling their newer stuff we heard live.

Getting to see Telepathe every night was great. We had their songs stuck in our head the whole time.

We had a day off in between Denton and Baton Rouge, so we went to New Orleans where we got to hang out with our friend Aurora.

We got burgers and baked potatoes at Port Of Call with Telepathe, which was delicious. After that, we snuck into a hotel rooftop pool, which was definitely a good call.

After our show in Chapel Hill, we went to Time-Out with our new friend Luke. We got chicken 'n biscuits and that was awesome. We were also happy to be eating somewhere that was repping the thizz.

The DC show started cool, despite Michael Jackson death bummer vibes. We played a good set and got to see our friends Clare, Lora, and Mike, which was awesome. The night ended on a bad note however, as Ben's laptop went missing from the backstage green room while we were enjoying an impromptu DJ set upstairs. It remains missing. Big bummer. The next morning we hung out with Clare's dad which was rad, and then headed off to Philly.

Our last show of tour was a bit weird. Unfortunately Telepathe cancelled at the last minute, preventing any real "last show of tour" festivities. We soldiered on however and had a good night. We did a funny interview and photo shoot with the folks from Drop Dead Magazine, and got some late night pizza on South Street before heading back to New York.

We're home now and won't be on tour again until August when we'll be heading out with Cale Parks, followed by a return to the UK.

We'll also be wrapping up our next EP and some more remixes and stuff. Stay tuned!

We are in Denton TX right now. Tonight is our 2nd show with Telepathe.

Callan and Ben drove straight from Brooklyn to Austin, where we picked up Alex from the airport. It was a long and uneventful drive punctuated with too much Taco Bell and Waffle House.

Austin was a fun show. We felt a little out of practice but there were people dancing and we stayed with some friendly folks who took us out to an excellent Mexican lunch at Taco Xpress. Here are the dates for the rest of the tour with Telepathe. It's gonna be rad!

6/22 Baton Rouge, LA @ Spanish Moon
6/23 Atlanta, GA @ 529
6/24 Chapel Hill, NC @ LOcal 506
6/25 Washington, DC @ Rock And Roll Hotel
6/26 Philadelphia, PA @ Johnny Brendas

Lemonade went to Europe. It was pretty amazing and really too much to tell in one blog post (perhaps should have been blogging from the road?... next time.)

We went to Barcelona and spent almost 2 weeks staying up late, sleeping away the day, eating amazing food, drinking large amounts of Estrella Damm and writing 2 brand-new songs in Delorean's studio! It was an incredibly positive working experience and one that we wish to repeat soon. We also got a chance to hear some new Delorean songs as they were being written and they are fantastic! It's good to hang out with friends who also appreciate 90's piano house.

Then we went to the UK, where we played quite a few shows. Some amazing, some bizarre. We got to meet the fine folks at Sunday Best, who will be releasing our debut album from last year in the UK and Europe this summer. Very Exciting!

Then we went back to Barcelona for the Primavera Sound festival. We managed to not see a lot of bands play, but did manage to see tons of old and new friends, get next-to-no sleep, DJ at a fancy hotel (they gave us rooms!), and generally exhaust ourselves. We also lost Alex for a good 32 hours. We also played one of our funnest sets ever, on the biggest stage we've ever played on, in front of the most people we've ever played to. It was honestly a highlight of our band's career thus-far.

After Barcelona, we were supposed to have a show in Paris, supporting Wavves, but due to his epic fail, the show was cancelled. Undaunted, we went to Paris anyway, where we managed to see some old friends, meet up with some of the fine folks who will be helping release our records in the future, and DJ at Paris Social Club with Matias Aguayo, which was seriously awesome!

Finally, we returned to London for one final gig at mega-club Fabric, which was a unique and somewhat bizarre experience. It's a maze in there!

Here are some pics from the trip. A lot of the amazingness was sadly undocumented, but here's what we got...
